The Dominion Defamation Suit Isn't About 'Defamation,' It's A Democrat Operation to Silence Voices of Dissent.
The suit is nothing more than a complete sham and assault on freedom of speech.
The left is celebrating Dominion Voting System’s $1.6 billion dollar defamation suit against Fox News, the most watched cable news network in America. But the suit is nothing more than a complete sham and assault on freedom of speech. Dominion is alleging that Fox News knowingly spread false claims that Dominion had manipulated the election in order to attract viewers and make a profit.
The lawsuit targets both Fox News and another conservative news network — One America News. Dominion falsely claims that “Dominion emerged from the election with arguably the most-tested, most- scrutinized, and most-proven voting technology in recent history.”
Counties all across the country, which leased and operated the Dominion Voting Machines, reported glitches on election day in 2020.
Two Georgia counties reported that a glitch with the voting machines prevented voters from casting ballots. Marcia Ridley, the supervisor, said that a representative for Dominion Voting Systems had told her office that the glitch had been caused by an upload update the night before the election.
Dominion called her a liar, denying that any of its representatives ever told her the company had made an update. Despite Dominion’s denial, the voting machine company had still failed to give her an explanation nine days later. 2020 was the first election Dominion’s voting machines had been deployed in every county in Georgia.
There were countless other instances of glitches, which even resulted in flipping Trump votes to Biden votes in Antrim County, Michigan. All of these instances were dismissed as being the result of human error or some ‘other’ software or equipment failure that wasn’t the property of Dominion.
But forget 2020 and Republican allegations of election manipulation by voting machines. The left and Dominion want to claim Fox’s scalp and silence the most popular news network in America — which coincidentally isn’t left leaning — because Right wingers spread baseless conspiracies about Dominion.
After Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election to Trump, MSNBC reported that voting machines might have been ‘hacked.’ In fact, countless liberal news networks and journalists reported that evidence showed that results in the three battleground states — Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania — might have been hacked. These supposed ‘computer scientists’ even urged Clinton to call for recounts because they believed they had evidence that vote totals had been ‘manipulated.’
Their theory relied upon the “questionable trend of Clinton performing worse in counties that relied on electronic voting machines compared to paper ballots and optical scanners.”
Even prior to the 2016 election, left wing cable news networks and journalists expressed great concern that voting machines weren’t secure; that they were vulnerable to foreign interference and hacking. A Politico headline even featured a story with the headline, “How to Hack an Election in 7 Minutes.”
Time Magazine reported that ‘Detroit Voting Machine Failures Were Widespread on Election Day.’ The article claimed that “more than 80 voting machines in Detroit malfunctioned on Election Day...resulting in ballot discrepancies in 59% of precincts that raise questions about the reliability of future election results in a city dominated by Democratic and minority voters.”
In 2016, the Huffington Post published an article with the headline, ’10 Years After HBO’s Hacking Democracy, Electoral Vulnerabilities Still Exist.’ The article describes how citizen journalists brought down Diebold, a private voting machine company, whose machines and software were used in most U.S. States.
The documentary “follows tenacious investigator, Bev Harris, and her team of citizen activists and hackers as they take on the electronic voting industry, targeting the Diebold corporation,” the documentary’s website explains. "Hacking Democracy" uncovers incendiary evidence from the trash cans of Texas to the ballot boxes of Ohio, exposing secrecy, votes in the trash, hackable software and election officials rigging the presidential recount.”
The Huffington Post article describes how Diebold retaliated against the filmmakers and tried to discredit them, calling their allegations a ‘sham.’ The article celebrates the documentary for creating “an outcome wherein a normal citizen courageously took on a large corporation and actually won.”
That said, the Huffington Post warned that “the sanctity of America’s elections…is still in the hands of a private corporation.” It turns out that Dominion Voting Systems purchased Diebold Election Systems.
You can’t make this stuff up.
Prior to 2020, concerns about voting machine vulnerability were both common and universal. In 2016, “the North Carolina chapter of the NAACP sent a letter to the state's board of elections after voters complained that machines had flipped votes in five counties."
Even after the 2020 election, NBC news published an article with the headline: 'Online and vulnerable': Experts find nearly three dozen U.S. voting systems connected to internet.
Proponents of voting machines repeatedly assure us that voting machines are not connected to the internet so as not to make them vulnerable to manipulation or hacking. And yet…they are.
Considering the many risks the use of these electronic voting machines poses and the inevitable opportunity it provides all political parties to question the results and promote ‘conspiracy theories’ — which the HBO documentary proved wasn’t a conspiracy theory — it would be prudent to simply abandon them and return to paper ballots.
Dominion has a conflict of interest, of course, since its existence and business plan is dependent upon the adoption and expansion of its machines in U.S. voting centers. Obviously Dominion denies any vulnerability or malfeasance.
While Dominion alleges that Fox News’ allegations of manipulated Dominion machines are a lie intended to generate profit, Dominion’s lawsuit and ridiculous claims that its machines are essentially perfect is also a lie intended to protect its own profit.
The Dominion lawsuit against Fox and OAN further erodes the companies credibility because no such charges have been made in the past against ideologically left-leaning networks and journalists, who have likewise repeatedly questioned the integrity of such machines.
MSNBC wasn’t sued in 2016 when it amplified claims by computer scientists that voting machines had been hacked and votes manipulated in favor of Trump.
The Dominion lawsuit suggests that Dominion, which donated to the Clinton Foundation in 2014, is an untrustworthy and partisan company, itself. It’s suit may allege defamation but its intent is far more sinister; motivated less by genuine concerns over defamation, but more-so by the left’s ideological agenda and quest to discredit Fox News and silence the loudest voice of political dissent in America.
The suit conveniently permits Dominion — through the legal process of discovery — the ability to broaden its ‘investigation’ by combing through internal communication, whether they relate to the case or not.
It’s convenient and ironic that the sudden vomit of reporting from the left’s news sources intended to defame Fox comes just as Fox News host Tucker Carlson prepares to show his audience the exclusive footage he has obtained from January 6th.
This isn’t merely convenient, of course, but by design. The purpose is to discredit what is likely to be damning evidence, which proves definitively that J6 wasn’t an insurrection, but rather a setup by Democrats. Just as Democrats colluded to discredit the Hunter Biden laptop story, they are moving to discredit the release of the J6 footage.
It’s particularly troublesome that this suit and the obvious intent to eliminate the ideological enemy of the Democratic Party comes on the heels of successful Democrat efforts to lobby AT&T to remove conservative news networks from DirectTV.
DirectTV recently dropped the conservative NEWSMAX, despite it being the fourth highest rated cable news network. The AT&T company dropped another conservative news network — One America News or OAN — in the spring of ’22.
There are currently nearly two dozen liberal news networks carried on DirectTV, but only two remaining conservative ones — Fox News and The First. AT&T’s decision to drop both OAN and Newsmax came after Democrat House Representatives sent a letter the the company in 2021, pressuring DirectTV to take “action” to counter ‘misinformation’ and ‘disinformation.’
But it’s left leaning networks, who peddle misinformation, nearly exclusively: Trump-Russia collusion, Quid Pro Quo, Insurrection, the Bubba Wallace noose hoax, and the Jussie Smollett hoax, to name a few. The liberal networks all lied and covered up the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, the COVID origin scandal, and peddled misinformation throughout the ‘pandemic.’
The liberal news reported that the vaccines stopped the virus in its tracks, that masks worked, and reported inflated COVID hospitalizations and deaths. They likewise claimed repeatedly that Trump had stolen the 2016 election. If anyone should be sued for defamation, it’s the liberal news networks.
Now the bar for winning the Dominion defamation case against Fox and OAN is to prove that the network acted with malice — that they knew Dominion had the best voting machines ever and lied anyway. But their target is the entire network and they’re trying to hold Murdoch responsible; by getting him to say he knew it was a lie and permitted his hosts to lie about it anyway.
Did the CNN, NBC, and ABC brass know Trump-Russia collusion was a lie and that the Hunter Biden laptop was real and lie anyway? Whether the left believes their fantasies and hoaxes or not does’t really matter. They serve a political agenda — to carry the water of the Democratic Party and destroy Republicans.
It’s a clear double standard and the implications of this fraudulent and nefarious Dominion suit are such that a Dominion victory sets lawful precedent to silence the voices of Democrat opponents and establish that which Democrats tried to do before with their ‘Ministry of Truth.’
In essence, Democrats are aiming to make their talking points and lies the only acceptable speech in America.
Dominion is more dangerous than ever and it raises additional suspicions about their voting machines. Clearly it is aligned with the Democratic Party’s agenda and is being used as a vehicle by which the Democratic Party hopes to fulfill its long desired objective of restoring its monopoly in the realm of news by taking down its competitors.
