That Wasn't a Debate, It Was an Ambush
This debate was the worst debate in the history of American debates—the most glaringly corrupt we’ve ever seen.
It wasn’t a great debate for Trump. That’s simply the truth. But it doesn’t spell doom. Resist the temptation to be absorbed in a cloud of depression. Do not listen to the media response, which is intended to depress you and give Kamala Harris a boost. They are liars—propagandists. Remember this. Their job is to shape the reality of the American people—to tell you what they want you to believe happened rather than report what actually happened.
The real story of the debate is this: Trump was ambushed, knew he would be ambushed, and showed up anyway and fought. Because that’s what he does. He fights, even when everything is rigged against him.
It wasn’t a good debate for Kamala Harris, either. Once again the bar was set so low for the Democrat on the stage in the empty auditorium with two teammates masquerading as ABC moderators that the entire charade was set up to ensure that she “won” and Trump “lost.”
The moderators did succeed where they failed in the last debate with Joe Biden. They strategically set Trump up with a line of questions that put him on defense and then offered Kamala Harris the opportunity to attack and pile on the false premise they presented to Trump. It was in no way fair. But that was to be expected, although not nearly to the extent that we saw.
In many ways the debate was a perfect climax to the entire democrat election saga and strategy. It underscored the reality that Trump and the American people are facing an entirely rigged and unprecedented situation. The media and justice system and every other governmental entity are all aligned against Trump. This debate was the worst debate in the history of American debates—the most glaringly corrupt we’ve ever seen.
It’s now been reported that Kamala is suddenly demanding a second debate. Just two weeks ago it seemed unlikely she’d commit to one. But now she’s received Taylor Swift’s endorsement and thinks she’s got Trump on the run.
Still, Kamala Harris was not impressive in the least. The split screen that showed both her facial reactions and Trump’s while the other spoke did expose her. In the silence Trump did win. He was composed and controlled. Harris couldn’t resist showing us exactly who she was with her uncontrollable facial contortions. She’s the evil witch we know her to be.
That all said, we have to keep our heads and march forward and win in November. We have to focus. Now is not the time for doom and gloom. It’s not necessary. It’s not even justified. It’s definitely not helpful.
It’s customary in the Republican Party to attack Trump. To blame him. The man carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. He survived a real assassination attempt. Kamala Harris was one of the ring leaders in the political assassination of her own boss, President Biden. But the media and moderators treat Kamala like she’s a hero and Trump a villain.
Notably Kamala Harris didn’t answer a single question she was asked the entire night. That’s not an exaggeration. Right out of the gate, Harris was asked “When it comes to the economy, do you believe Americans are better off than they were four years ago?” She responded by falsely claiming she was “raised as a middle-class kid.” “And I am actually the only person on this stage who has a plan that is about lifting up the middle class and working people of America,” she falsely claimed.
Harris grew up in an upperclass enclave in Montreal, Canada—this according to Emma-Jo Morris, who grew up on the same street. According to Morris, “Kamala Harris grew up in the most upscale neighborhood, which, at the time she lived there, was not only the nicest neighborhood in Montreal, but was the richest one in all of Canada.”
But the moderators didn’t fact check Harris on that lie. In fact, they didn’t fact check her on any of her lies and Kamala Harris did nothing but lie for the entirety of the debate—both about herself and her opponent Trump.
After lying about her “middle class” upbringing and pretending like she wasn’t the Vice President in an administration which has tied an economic noose around middle class Americans’ necks, she went on to wildly accuse Trump’s ‘plan’ of harming middle class Americans, despite the reality that all Americans benefitted economically under the previous Trump administration.
When Trump responded, he brought up the invasion of violent illegals, who have been terrorizing American cities, both big and small. The moderator, Muir, dismissed Trump’s response saying, “We are going to get to immigration and border security during this debate. But I would like to let Vice President Harris respond on the economy here.”
In other words, Muir intervened on Harris’ behalf and saved her from having to formulate a response.
Muir then put Trump on defense about his proposed tariffs. While there are pros and cons to be debated about the economic impact of tariffs, he didn’t follow up with any questions about Harris’ own economic plans for price controls, taxing unrealized gains, or even the inflation reduction act, which Harris supported and exacerbated inflation in America. An honest moderator might have asked her, “Vice President Harris, why did you claim the inflation reduction act would address inflation, when your own boss admitted it was designed to fund the green new deal?”
It was a damning early sign of the intent of Muir and the trajectory of the debate.
The strategy was to criticize Trump and then allow Kamala the chance to pile on, while shielding Harris from having to answer for her own record and what is currently plaguing Americans under her leadership rather than what they are speculating might plague Americans under Trump—speculations based on bogus economic illiteracy.
So too did the moderators insist on promulgating the already settled lie about abortion in America. Trump has been asked a thousand times about abortion. His response has not changed. He succeeded in appointing justices that rightly and constitutionally overturned Roe V. Wade and gave states their constitutional right to decide on the issue.
Despite there being zero evidence or basis to suggest that Trump would erratically sign a federal abortion ban—the whole point of overturning Roe v. Wade was to get the federal government out of it—the debate moderators made sure to give Harris the chance to falsely accuse Trump of pursuing that very end.
After Trump pointed out the radical position of Democrats like Harris and Walz on the issue of abortion—saying that former Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, for example, supported abortion in the ninth month—ABC co-moderator Linsey Davis “fact checked” Trump before turning the mic over to Kamala Harris.
Former Virginia Governor Ralph Northam did support abortion in the ninth month. “The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired. And then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother,” Northam said about a state measure he supported in 2019.
When Harris parroted the debunked Democrat “very fine people” hoax, the moderators didn’t fact check her. Even the left wing fact checking website Snopes has admitted that Trump never called Charlottesville neo-Nazis ‘very fine people.’ But that didn’t stop Harris from repeating the lie. Nor did the moderators call her out.
Muir overtly took the side of Harris on the issue of immigration, as well.
Muir asked Harris, “why did the administration wait until six months before the election to act and would you have done anything differently from President Biden on this?” Harris didn’t answer the question. Instead she parroted the Democrat talking point about Trump killing the “immigration” bill that would have legalized illegal immigration.
When Muir gave Trump the chance to respond, he asked first, why did you try to kill that bill and successfully so?”
When Trump brought up the reported incidents of Haitian illegals eating the pets and animals of residents of Springfield, Ohio Muir debated Trump over it. The media had already moved to dismiss the reports.
After Harris celebrated her endorsement of countless disgraced and traitorous Republicans like Liz and Dick Cheney, Trump mounted a poignant and effective rebuttal by comparing his own ability to fire ineffective and failed leaders to the Biden administration’s refusal to fire anyone for anything. Muir interrupted and suddenly wanted to continue the discussion of immigration. Once again, he put Trump on defense by asking about his deportation plans.
And once again, as Trump mounted another successful response—bringing up the increased in violent crime due to illegals—Muir interrupted with the false Democrat talking point that violent crime is coming down according to the FBI. This is the same FBI that falsely claims white supremacy is the greatest domestic terrorism threat.
Muir then immediately handed the mic back over to Harris. He and his co-moderator worked in tandem to help Kamala Harris. It was three versus one.
David Muir and Linsey Davis relentlessly put Trump on defense and then prevented Trump from mounting an effective response.
Harris, for example, attacked Trump saying that Trump “has been prosecuted for national security crimes, economic crimes, election interference, has been found liable for sexual assault and his next big court appearance is in November at his own criminal sentencing.”
Trump then began a robust rebuttal about the left’s weaponization of the justice system only to be cut off by Muir once again. "President Trump, thank you. A really quick response here, Vice President Harris, on this notion of weaponization of the justice department,” Muir said.
J6 was brought up by Muir. After a one minute parroting of media lies about Trump’s role Muir asked Trump, "Is there anything you regret about what you did on that day?” Muir then repeatedly interrupted Trump not satisfied that Trump didn’t concede anything or accept the false premise and fall into the trap.
“You were the president,” Muir insisted, after Trump brought up Harris’ support of BLM rioters. “You were watching it unfold on television. It's a very simple question as we move forward toward another election. Is there anything you regret about what you did on that day? Yes or no.”
Trump then pointed out the truth that Pelosi was responsible. “It would have never happened if Nancy Pelosi and the mayor of Washington did their jobs. I wasn't responsible for security. Nancy Pelosi was responsible. She didn't do her job.” Trump said.
But Muir was out for blood. “The question was about you as president, not about Former Speaker Pelosi. But I do want Vice President Harris to respond here.” Muir said.
Do you see what Muir was up to? He was a Harris ally. He repeatedly made arguments on behalf of Democrats and Harris and then gave Harris the opportunity to pile on.
But Harris did show her true colors at times. When asked by Linsey Davis how a President Harris would settle the war between Hamas and Israel, Harris called for a two state solution. The Palestinians have previously refused such a solution on the grounds that they claim Israel must be completely wiped off the face of the earth. Any proponent of a two state solution is pro-Hamas and anti-Israel.
Trump made that very case. He pointed out that Harris snubbed Netanyahu when he visited Congress most recently, which undermined any credibility that Harris would actually solve anything, and said “she hates Israel.”
Propagandist Linsey then interrupted and said, “Vice President Harris, he says you hate Israel.” She intervened to bail Harris out. Harris was completely incompetent and then moderators knew it.
The framing of a Ukraine question to Trump was truly pathetic. “Do you believe it's in the U.S. best interests for Ukraine to win this war? Yes or no?” Muir asked Trump repeatedly. What does that even mean? What does Ukraine “winning” look like? It’s not about anyone winning. It’s about ending it. Furthermore, there was no war under Trump.
Kamala Harris was sent to the Munich Security conference in February of 2022 to prevent and deter conflict between Russia and Ukraine. VP Harris vowed there would be a “swift, severe and united” response if Russia invades Ukraine and assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky the US “stands with Ukraine.” Days later Russia invaded Ukraine. She failed miserably.
Harris had the gaul to claim that Putin “would be sitting in Kyiv right now,” if Trump were President. And yet there was no invasion or aggression under Trump. An honest moderator would have pointed this out. But these weren’t honest moderators.
Trump accurately pointed this out saying “they sent her in to negotiate with Zelenskyy and Putin. And she did and the war started three days later.”
Muir jumped to rescue Harris once again. “You did bring up something,” he said to Trump. “You said she went to negotiate with Vladimir Putin. Vice President Harris, have you ever met Vladimir Putin, can you clarify tonight?”
It was such an overtly partisan interjection. He tried to falsely portray Trump as a liar and rescue Harris from having to answer for her failure.
But perhaps the lowest point of the debate was Muir’s idiotic race baiting toward the end. Harris is a complete fraud. She has nothing in common with the so-called blacks in America the Democrats routinely pander to for their votes.
“I want to move on now to race and politics in this country,” Muir said. “Mr. President, you recently said of Vice President Harris, "I didn't know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black." I want to ask a bigger-picture question here tonight. Why do you believe it's appropriate to weigh in on the racial identity of your opponent?”
Of course, the real controversy is Harris’ own racial acting and pandering. She even dons an accent when speaking to blacks. But Muir had to conjure a senseless controversy that Harris could then use to play the victim. After Trump brilliantly dismissed the stupid question and rendered it obsolete, Muir then turned to Harris. “Vice President Harris, your thoughts on this?” he asked.
Harris said, “I mean honestly, I think it's a tragedy that we have someone who wants to be president who has consistently over the course of his career attempted to use race to divide the American people.” Who is it that is dividing Americans? It’s Harris and the Democrats.
Harris then gave an obviously prepared response filled with lies painting Trump as a racist. Linsey Davis then took over and tried to ask Trump another question without giving him an opportunity to respond. Time and time again the moderators tee’d up Harris to lie about Trump and then prevent Trump from responding to the lies and accusations.
I’m not going to play the game of criticizing Trump. Could he have done a few thing better? Sure. But he was setup. ABC absolutely worked with the Harris team to rig the debate. Don’t doubt me. It’s the same thing Hillary Clinton and the DNC did to knock out Bernie Sanders.
If you want to be angry, be angry at the moderators and ABC. Harris offered no vision, only platitudes and lies. ABC did the country a disservice. This wasn’t a debate. It was an ambush.
Still, Trump took them all on. One man versus an entire machine. He deserves credit and respect. I’m not mad at Trump. I’m mad at the communists colluding to bleed out our country.
I knew this was coming. Most of you did too. It’s why I wrote my book, America’s Last Stand. I encourage you to read it, because it dispels most of the lies told on that stage tonight. Arm yourself with the truth and fight on. Get mad and more motivated. Now’s not the time to give up. The country need you.
