Jimmy Kimmel Turns Oscars Into Kimmel Therapy Session
The Oscars may not have united Americans, but it did unite (again) a room full of marxists in their insular hatred of Trump, Americans, and America.
I didn’t watch the Oscars tonight. Truthfully, I can’t remember the last time I did tune into the Oscars. Typically my wife would tune into the red carpet portion to analyze the fashion component but not even that happened tonight — we have a nearly 1 year old daughter that keeps us busy (and distracted from things like that).
I didn’t plan on addressing anything related to the Oscars, by the way — not here or even on my podcast. I fully expect the political speeches and the recognition of inferior films as a means of rewarding woke content that pursues a leftwing political agenda. The Oscars today is simply another weaponized event — robbed long ago of any joy by the Marxist hijackers — used to foment division, attack tens of millions of actual Americans, and spew leftwing propaganda. This is nothing new.
Yet here I am writing about the Oscars. Why? One reason. One person, in fact. One moment. Jimmy Kimmel.
Jimmy Kimmel is a truly loathsome human being and it’s actually perfect that he was chosen to host the Oscars. No Hollywood elite better personifies this ignorant, arrogant, out of touch class of individuals than Kimmel. He is condescending, hateful, and cruel. The Jimmy Kimmel that once played crude pranks on the Man Show on Comedy Central had a sense of humor. He was often crude — and by today’s standards inappropriate — but he was good natured and most importantly…funny. That’s because his objective was humor; in other words, he wasn’t a political hack—a far-left activist masquerading as a comedian. He was trying to make you laugh, not score points with entirely unfunny leftwing nuts.
But the Jimmy Kimmel that was on stage at the Oscars — the one we all know and loathe today — is neither funny, nor good natured. This Jimmy Kimmel is a monster. That isn’t hyperbole. Kimmel, of course, is one of many monsters and all of them have one thing in common — HATRED.
The left is neither loving nor compassionate. This is a sham. The entire movement requires that its members give up their very souls; demands that one gives up his or her own mind, thoughts, beliefs, principals, and most of all their JOY — all in the service of the Party. The current left — the one that has metastecized since Barack Obama’s seizure of the Democratic Party — absolutely corrupts any who follow this path.
Those who hitch their wagon the left — like Kimmel — are doomed. It’s a slow drip IV of poison and the longer one absorbs it, the darker it turns one soul.
Kimmel is a weak man. His career is dependent upon his willingness to be a mouthpiece for the left. Whether he knows it or not — and more than likely he’s acutely aware — he is, in fact, a hostage of the left. I’m not defending him, by the way. No man or woman who follows the path of the left if truly free. In this sense, all are hostages and all are also weak.
For example, in his past Jimmy Kimmel has donned blackface and impersonated NBA star Karl Malone and used the “N-word".” If he were conservative, he would have been cancelled by the very people he hangs out and works with. In fact, the very people in that room at the Oscars would publicly lynch him if he had different political views. Instead, he gets a pass.
REMEMBER THIS ABOUT THE LEFT: They have zero tolerance and do not forgive.
It reminds me of Scientology. Basically, when you join the cult they force you to confess your deepest, darkest secrets and record the confession. They require you to tell them something you don’t want anyone to know. But instead of confessing to a priest or God, Himself, you aren’t doing so to receive forgiveness. Instead, you are doing so —and it’s being recorded — so that they have blackmail should you ever leave the cult, etc.
The left is the same way. So Jimmy Kimmel couldn’t get a job as a janitor in Hollywood, much less host the Oscars, if he weren’t an overt and radical propagandist for the cause. Imagine spending time with people like this — people whose forgiveness of your past misdeeds (and I don’t personally consider the Malone stuff etc some crime but I’m talking about the left here) depends upon your adoption of their radical political ideology?
My point is that if my buddy impersonated Karl Malone twenty years ago and had to paint his face black to do it, my view of that or my ability to let it go wouldn’t be influenced by his political beliefs. I personally could care less about anything Kimmel did on the Man Show. It doesn’t suddenly bother me because he’s a lunatic leftist.
But the left operates differently.
Now, THIS IS VITAL THAT YOU UNDERSTAND. It’s the primary and most important difference between the left and right.
As a conservative, the Republican Party does not dictate what I think, believe etc. My goal is always to make the Republican Party conform to my own belief system, which is informed by my own study of history, experience, and principles derived from my faith, the Constitution, etc. So my loyalty is never absolutely to a party because my belief system isn’t derived from the Party.
But the leftist (liberal) is loyal to Party over all else. His or her views and opinions, principals, etc, are informed by the Democrat Party. It’s the reverse. Rather than make the Democrat Party conform to some belief system rooted in natural law, or religion, etc, the leftist conforms to the ever evolving positions of the Democrat Party. Their loyalty is absolutely to the Party because their identity and belief system is prescribed by whatever the Party tells them to adopt.
This is why a Democrat Christian will support gender theory or critical race theory etc. It’s why in the past a democrat might have supported “safe, legal, and rare” abortion but today supports abortions that are tax payer funded, third trimester, and frequent. Their positions are subject to whatever they’re told to adopt.
So anyway, Jimmy Kimmel has a history of being a very nasty human being. Back in 2021 he joked that hospitals should let the unvaccinated die. More recently, in January of this year, Kimmel went on his late night comedy show and said "Sometimes I wonder, once Trump is dead and gone and buried on the 18th hole of one of his golf courses, will things get better? Or will we have a whole new crop of MAGA brains to deal with?" It wasn't the first time Kimmel had attacked Trump or conservative Americans.
According to a Media Research Center study, of the 2,215 political jokes made on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in 2023, 1,960, or 88% were directed at conservatives. 762 of these jokes were aimed at Trump himself.
So while Kimmel was hosting yet another miserable Oscars ceremony, devoid of joy and humor, Trump posted the below on social media:
Truthfully, Trump’s post is hilarious. Of course, he’s trolling a supposed “comedian” Jimmy Kimmel. In an impromptu moment, Kimmel read Trump’s post live while hosting the Oscars before commenting, “Isn't it past your jail time?”
The media will (and is already) predictably rushing to declare this a victory for Kimmel. Certainly the audience of never-Trump marxists in the audience cheered. But the truth is Kimmel exposed himself and the audience for the out of touch, self important, elitist snobs that they are.
Most Americans would agree that the Oscars are too political, that Kimmel did a terrible job, and wish the award ceremony would return to its glory days and simply celebrate great films and serve to unite Americans for a few hours.
Instead, the Oscars continues to embrace its decline and irrelevance.
The Oscars ceremony isn’t about Jimmy Kimmel. But Jimmy Kimmel didn’t see it that way. In his arrogance, he made it about him. Kimmel reinforced the reality that the ceremony itself, those in attendance, and Kimmel represent a small, inclusive, arrogant, ignorant, group of ultra-rich marxists, who live in a bubble.
Most importantly, Kimmel’s decision to read Trump’s post reveals Kimmel’s own insecurity and inability to handle criticism and reality. If Kimmel wants to use his own unfunny late night show to go to battle with Trump, that’s fine — it’s his show. But the Oscar’s isn’t his show. He’s hosting, but it’s not his.
Kimmel was unhinged. His hatred for Trump and bitter animosity towards his superior in every way forced him to abandon any remaining professionalism and publicly turn the Oscars into a Kimmel therapy session. (I hope people understand just how freakish it was for Kimmel to read a Trump post about himself at the Oscars)
Kimmel should have been booed off the stage for hijacking the Oscars ceremony and turning it into his shrink’s office but, unfortunately, the Oscars was a shrink’s office. Everyone in the room was there for it. Because for Democrats and the left, politics supersedes everything else.
The Oscars may not have united Americans, but it did unite (again) a room full of marxists in their insular hatred of Trump, Americans, and America. But the jokes on them.
