Get Butker! The Left's Rabid Devotion to Criminalizing Christianity
Butker’s real crime is being a Catholic
In case you were lost at sea or otherwise holed up in some cabin without contact with the outside world for the past week the Kansas City Chief’s kicker Harrison Butker—a devout Catholic—gave a commencement address at a Catholic college and is now under attack for saying things that Catholics (and Christians) believe. Isn’t that outrageous?
Let me write that one more time so you understand just how shocking Butker’s behavior was. A Catholic spoke at a Catholic college and had the audacity to say Catholic things. More importantly—whether informed by his Catholicism or not—what Butker said was true.
So why is Butker under attack exactly? Yes, he told the truth. He’s under attack for that. He’s also a prominent athlete with the capacity to influence others and is clearly not a Democrat. Democrats like to keep all stars and celebrities on their plantation—using the useful idiots to serve as their human wrangling Cowboys to round up the American citizenry and keep them in line. Those, who dare speak out against Democrats policies and the regime are bludgeoned mercilessly—like Butker—to send a clear message to other would-be heroes that there are consequences for challenging the Biden administration and American communists.
Still, more than anything else, Butker’s real crime is being a Catholic. A Christian. You aren’t permitted to actually be a Christian in America today; that is to live out your faith authentically. This is because the Christian faith is incompatible with the secular and godless religion of the left, which wishes to eradicate Christian faith—and Judeo-Christian values—from America. It’s communism in this case—one of many forms of tyranny.
There are two ways rulers have traditionally gone about subjugating a population. In one rulers embrace religion but make themselves effectively the head of that religion. The Egyptian pharaohs and Roman Emperors claimed to be gods themselves, for example. Medieval Kings would claim divine right—that they alone were chosen by God to rule over man. Thus religion was never in direct competition with the authority of the tyrant. Obedience to the king or emperor or pharaoh was obedience to the Almighty—effectively a theocracy. In this manner religion is used to establish a tyranny.
The other predominate route tyrants have taken to subjugate a citizenry is the elimination of religion; the criminalization of it altogether. This is what Communism does. Stalin, for example called for an “atheist five year plan” to eliminate religion from society. In doing so, Stalin eliminated his competition—religion. The result of eliminating religion is effectively the same as the first route. Stalin made himself the unquestionable ruler of man. In this manner, religion is forbidden to establish a tyranny. This is the route Democrats are taking in America.
There should be no doubt in your minds that America is engaged in a spiritual war. Yes, it’s good versus evil on a spiritual level—a battle for the actual soul of man. But Democrats are also engaged in a very real and literal war to eradicate Christianity from America. The war is both physical and spiritual—visible and invisible, tangible and intangible.
Christianity can exist at present, but only if man is willing to rewrite the laws and commands of God Himself to align with the secular and anti-Christian laws being newly written and designed by Democrats. It’s effectively fascism. Fascism permits private enterprise so long as those enterprises serve the interest of the State. Democrats will permit Christianity so long as it too furthers the interest of the State; which, of course means abandoning one’s faith in service of secularism.
Gay marriage was the first dam to break. Marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman that is ordained by God. It’s always been this way and it is inseparable from religion. Importantly, this is not a debatable or even remotely controversial position for the Christian. That marriage is a sacred union between a man and woman is as clear and fundamental to the Christian faith as the belief that Jesus Christ is the son of God, died, and was resurrected for our sins.
Today gay marriage is the law of the land. The radical activists weren’t even willing to accept a compromise of same-sex civil unions—awarded the same legal rights as a married couple without the sacred title of marriage, which is reserved for a union between a man and woman.
This superfluous and truly offensive demand that same-sex couples must also be recognized as “married” was a very intentional assault on Christianity in America. Here is the argument the radical same-sex marriage proponents made:
Only the word married conveys the universally understood meaning applicable to the lifetime commitment many couples make. Marriage has a meaning unmatched by any other word. Regardless of whether civil unions and marriage offer the same benefits and obligations on paper, when the government relegates same-sex couples to civil unions rather than marriage, it forces them to explain the difference at work, at school, in hospitals and elsewhere.
In other words, what was most important—according to their own arguments—was ensuring not that they had the same legal rights and recognition, but that society at large would be compelled to recognize same-sex relationships with the same word; a word they acknowledged was exclusively reserved for a sacred union between a man and a woman. It was the ultimate sign of disrespect. It was even theft.
Allow me to make an analogy:
Imagine that your family had been in the wine business for four generations in the Napa Valley in California—the most prestigious wine growing region in the entire United States. That your father and grandfather and great grandfather had toiled and farmed and sweated for generations to build a legacy—a winery that was renowned all over the world for the quality of its wines. Let’s say it was named after my family. Allen wines. And whenever you saw that name on a bottle, it meant something— excellence.
Now imagine you stop into some boutique that sells fine wines and you see the owner speaking with some salesman and this salesman is holding a bottle of wine with the exact same label that adorns your own family’s bottles. You interrupt and inquire why that bottle looks exactly like yours. And the salesman says he decided to get into the wine business, bought some grapes from Virginia, and he wants his product to be recognized for its excellence.
And in order for his wine to be perceived as he desires, he has given his own wine the label of Allen wines—the label that your family created. But he’s an imposter. His wine is not the same. His grapes aren’t even from Napa, they’re from Virginia. But he demands that his wines be recognized as Allen wines because only the name Allen wines and the accompanying label have the unmatched meaning he desires. This is what the radical same-sex marriage activists did to marriage.
But the Christian cannot accept same sex “marriage” anymore than the fourth generation Allen can accept that the new winemaker’s wine is identical to his own. Marriage, like Allen wines, does indeed have “a meaning unmatched by any other word” and that is precisely why it cannot be applied to same sex marriage.
The Church’s stance on abortion is also as clear as its stance on same-sex marriage.
Butker spoke out against abortion in his commencement address. This isn’t controversial for Catholics. As I said, it is the official stance. And it is a biblical stance. This is what practicing Christians—and certainly Catholics—believe.
It is irrelevant whether or not you personally are pro-life or pro-choice, by the way; whether you support abortion with limits or abortion without limits, etc. There are many, many people who do not support abortion. It is undeniable too that it is the Christian in America, who largely comprises the pro-life movement.
Here is what Butker said about abortion at the commencement:
Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the Sign of the Cross during a pro- abortion rally. He has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I'm sure to many people it appears that you can be both Catholic and pro-choice.
Butker is absolutely correct. The Catholic faith and even the Christian faith at large demands a defense of the unborn. You don’t like it? Fine. But Butker has the absolute Right to be pro-life, as does any other person the right to disagree.
Butker coming out against abortion at a Catholic college is as shocking as Nancy Pelosi coming out in favor of plastic surgery after getting her face replaced by a plastic surgeon.
Look, the abortion issue is actually pretty simple. The pro-life crowd believes abortion is tragic; that fewer abortions are better. We (I’m pro-life) do not celebrate them and do not encourage more of these procedures to take place. The pro-choice crowd, on the other hand, believes abortion is a right and should be celebrated and encouraged. This group believes abortion is good and that more abortions are better. It boils down to people who think abortion is tragic and people who think abortion is like a designer hand bag.
But this isn’t even about abortion—my personal view or yours. This is about the Right of an individual to have and express a belief or opinion without facing a mob of self appointed hangmen.
Had Butker told the graduating class that the Catholic Church’s stance on abortion was wrong and come out in support of late term abortion he would have been praised and celebrated. Had he used his address to attack cops or attack Trump as a threat to democracy he also would have been praised.
Do you know what the correct response is to anyone attacking Butker over this? It’s “F*ck YOU!” I’m sorry if that offends you. But you can’t play nice with people that want to cancel you and send you to the gulag because they don’t agree with you.
Butker is also under fire for daring to celebrate motherhood and the traditional family. “I can tell you that my beautiful wife, Isabelle, would be the first to say that her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother,” Butker told the graduating class at Benedictine College.
My own wife left her own very lucrative career as a private chef behind when we had our first child—a daughter—just 14 months ago. I work from home, which is not always easy. But I am able to witness the extraordinary work and sacrifice that is motherhood every single day. It is the hardest job in the world. And it is the most fulfilling. My wife works harder than any person I know. She has a job. She’s a full time mother. It’s grueling. And for anyone to denigrate my wife’s—or any other mother’s—decision to raise their child can pound sand.
Butker told the graduates that it is women “who have had the most diabolical lies” told to them. He asked, “How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career?”
Where’s the lie? Democrats have done everything in their power to destroy the nuclear family. There are many examples of this, but as it pertains to women, Butker is absolutely correct. Women have been told by the radical feminazis that there is nothing more shameful than being a full time mother; that the life of a homemaker is a vestige of the evil patriarchy. A woman that stays home and raises her children is the human equivalent of some inseminated cow; imprisoned against her will by a man. Motherhood is a prison sentence! By the way, do you see how this also is consistent with the left’s love of abortion?
Anyhow, these feminazis insist that a woman couldn’t possibly choose to be a stay at home mother. No woman can actually be happy doing this. No, the only path to happiness and liberty is by rebelling against the curse of the womb and devoting yourself to beating your enemy known as men—becoming CEO’s and executives and breadwinners so that you teach those men a lesson!
Many of the same leftwing kooks attacking Butker for being a devout Catholic support Hamas, by the way, who believe women are doormats—banned from dancing, required to pay their husbands for a divorce, and whose testimony is worth half that of a man.
It is, of course, the kooks who are denigrating women. Homemaker is not a dirty word. It’s an honorable vocation—and that’s important. Butker repeatedly invoked the word vocation. That means a calling. Not every woman is called to be a mother, but it’s a natural instinct. The left wants to play God, of course, and rebel against the natural order.
The mother is to be revered. It’s the most important calling that exists. The mother deserves more respect and admiration than any professional athlete, CEO, billionaire, politician, or single, angry and barren 50 year old feminazi attacking motherhood.
Butker struck a nerve because he spoke the truth; a truth, which stemmed from religion—Catholicism. It is his faith that gave him the strength to boldly speak the truth. His words were inspired by faith; informed by God and His Holy Word. This is why he must be destroyed. Like the Apostle Paul, Butker’s words resonated with tens of millions in Americans and tens of millions more elsewhere.
Christianity is a bulwark against tyranny. If Christians woke up today and lived their faith, the Democratic Party would disappear.

Nice summary Drew! I devoted my Bible class this morning to this discussion. I talked a lot about how radical left to destroy the nuclear family because not only will it destroy America, it will destroy western civilization. It will send us spiraling into chaos and disorder. We already see it in some grottos. In some subcultures. And of course, marriage is it the foundation of the nuclear family, because marriage implies covenant and commitment. And the left, hates covenant because covenant includes truth and fidelity, ultimate virtues that are very threatening to the secular relative mind. I’m starting to preach or ramble, I’m not sure how to differ, but I better go. I appreciate your fine work. And I don’t comment every day and every time, I’m listening. Ron.
