Drew Allen: Here’s why we aren’t going to war with Russia.
The Biden regime’s ‘foreign policy’ as it relates to the imminent, or not so imminent, Russian invasion of Ukraine is nonsensical, at best.
Are we to believe that the same Biden administration, which lifted sanctions to permit Russia to build its Nordstream 2 pipeline to empower Russia, is now going to weaken Russia with economic sanctions if, and when Putin invades Ukraine?
The Biden Administration seems to believe the Putin-led invasion is imminent. The State Department recently issued an evacuation order for families of American personnel at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.
But the Ukrainian President’s recent claim that “Americans are safer in Kiev than LA,” suggests otherwise. EU officials have called the US evacuation “premature.” So is an invasion imminent or not?
If the Biden Administration is correct, and an invasion is imminent, why hasn’t Biden already issued sanctions to prevent a Russian invasion? FOX news correspondent Jacqui Heinrich tried to ask Biden that very question several days ago.
Heinrich asked, “Why are you waiting on [Russian President Vladimir] Putin to make the first move, sir?” Biden dismissed Heinrich’s question, muttering, “What a stupid question.”
But it wasn’t a stupid question. It’s perhaps the most important question. If Biden is anticipating a Russian invasion of Ukraine and if Biden wants to prevent a Russian invasion of Ukraine, then why has the administration not already put sanctions in place to deter the invasion?
Because Biden doesn’t want to prevent a Russian invasion of Ukraine. It makes sense if you examine the situation through the lens of globalism.
Globalists believe that American supremacy and dominance on the world stage is unfair. Globalists seek to diminish American influence, while strengthening the influence of other foreign Nations.
A globalist, for example, might cancel the Keystone Pipeline, which would have moved 35 million gallons of crude daily into the United States, but green-light the Nordstream 2 pipeline, which would give Russia a monopoly on natural gas exportation to the EU. That’s exactly what Biden has done.
Under Biden, America has gone from energy independent to energy dependent. Meanwhile, Russia will soon have leverage over the EU, when the Nordstream 2 becomes operational. Why would the Biden regime help Russia and hurt America; put Russia’s interests above America’s interests? Globalism.
Any other attempts to explain the incoherent and contradictory messaging from the Biden regime regarding the imminent Russia-Ukraine conflict fail. I think this plays out like it did in 2014, the last time Russia invaded Ukraine.
In February 2014 Obama was “deeply concerned” about reports of Russian military movements inside Ukraine. It seemed like Russia was preparing to invade and annex Crimea. Obama warned Russia that “there will be costs for any military intervention in Ukraine.”
Russia then invaded Ukraine, annexed Crimea, and Obama…sanctioned “two top aides to President Vladimir Putin and nine other people linked to Russia’s military incursion into Crimea.” The ‘sanctions’ were a pathetic, toothless, virtue-signaling effort to feign objection to Putin’s invasion of Crimea. Putin got what he wanted and Obama pretended he cared.
The same is happening now, in 2022. Three quarters of Biden’s top aides previously worked in the Obama administration. Tony Blinken, Biden’s Secretary of State, was the deputy national security advisor from 2013 to 2015 in the Obama administration. Given the same globalist influence in the Biden regime, why should we expect any different outcome this time?
While the crisis at Ukraine’s border may very well be a useful distraction for the flailing Biden regime, I do not believe Biden’s intent is to start WWIII, nor come to the aid of Ukraine. Whether Putin will follow through and invade Ukraine or not is still unknown.
But if he does, I expect Biden’s response to be similar to that of Obama’s after the Putin invasion of 2014. After Putin annexed Crimea, Obama said, “This is not another Cold War that we’re entering into.”
If Putin wants to take Ukraine, he will. The United States could send 1 million surface to air missiles and arms to Ukraine and Ukraine would still be incapable of defending itself against the mighty Russian military.
Putin has dreams of restoring Russia to its former Soviet Union glory. A stronger Russia is a step in the right direction for the globalists, who wish to see America challenged and put in its place.
Like the Obama regime, the Biden regime will do and say just enough to pretend they object. If Biden was serious about preventing the invasion, he would sanction the Nordstream 2, unleash American energy independence, and export our supplies to Europe, which would destroy Russia.
While I’m not certain what Putin will do, I am certain what Biden will do in response: nothing, because he’s a globalist.
