Democrats Enduring Hatred of Trump Reaffirms Comparisons to Lincoln
Sadly, it is the Democrats’ visceral hatred of Trump and their abject intolerance of both his Presidency and very existence that most warrants Trump comparisons to Lincoln.
After President Trump compared himself to President Lincoln in a presidential debate in October of 2020, the Democrats and their media predictably mocked and ridiculed him. Trump had asserted that he had done “more for the Black community than any President since.”
Trump had a point. Under his presidency black unemployment was at its lowest rate ever. He even passed a controversial criminal justice reform bill, which resulted in the release of non-violent offenders from prison. Blacks were the overwhelming beneficiaries.
But despite the Democrats’ best efforts to erase and revise American history, Lincoln remains one of our undisputed greatest Presidents. Democrats couldn’t permit any comparison of Trump to a nationally lauded American hero to stand. Only comparisons to Adolf Hitler were permissible to them. They hated Trump.
Sadly, it is the Democrats’ visceral hatred of Trump and their abject intolerance of both his Presidency and very existence that most warrants Trump comparisons to Lincoln; more-so than any of Trump’s achievements.
After Lincoln won the presidency in 1860, the State of South Carolina responded by seceding from the Union. The other Southern States, which would comprise the Confederacy, followed suit. While no states seceded following the election of Donald Trump in 2016, the sentiment expressed by the Democratic Party was the same — Democrats collectively viewed the result as intolerable. Why?
No President since Lincoln has threatened to upset the status quo more than Donald Trump. Just as Southern States viewed Lincoln’s election as a threat to their expansion of slavery, the Democrats in 2016 (and still) viewed Trump’s election as a threat to their objective to transform America into a Nation of ‘ruling elites’ and citizen slaves.
Such overt hatred and animosity hasn’t been exhibited towards a Republican President since the election of 1876, when the Democrats threatened “Tilden or War.” The Democrat presidential candidate Samuel Tilden would eventually lose to the Republican presidential candidate Rutherford B. Hayes.
The Democrats did go to war following the election of Donald Trump in 2016. They didn’t mobilize a standing army as they did after Lincoln’s election, but they did mobilize corrupt Democrat politicians, the intelligence community, and the media to destroy Trump and end his Presidency.
‘Trump-Russia Collusion’ was a coup; a Democrat led effort to unseat a duly elected President. The Clinton campaign even paid for the creation of the ‘Steele dossier,’ that completely fabricated and uncorroborated litany of lies alleging that President Trump had conspired with the Kremlin to steal the election from Hillary Clinton.
The gravity of that unprecedented assault on American democracy has still not sunk in for many Americans. Worse, even after the partisan $32 million dollar tax payer funded Mueller investigation failed to find any evidence of Collusion, the Democrats simply concocted another scheme to achieve the same end.
No-one involved in the ‘Trump-Russia Collusion’ coup was charged. Instead, the same criminals simply concocted their next scheme: ‘Quid Pro Quo.’ Democrats impeached Trump over it.
‘Quid pro quo’ was yet another baseless accusation, proven so after Trump released the transcript of his phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky, which served as the basis of the Democrats’ impeachment proceedings. Trump was exonerated in the Senate.
Again, no Democrat faced any consequences for his or her actions. Instead, they would impeach Trump a second time after the 2020 election. This time they alleged that Trump had incited an insurrection. Again the accusation was meritless and again Trump was acquitted in the Senate.
Even after Trump’s acquittal and Biden’s certification as President, the Democrats continued their quest to destroy Donald Trump; forming their partisan J6 committee to convince Biden’s Department of Injustice to prosecute Trump for inciting the insurrection that the Senate had already determined Trump hadn’t incited.
The double jeopardy clause in the 5th amendment of the Constitution prevents anyone from being prosecuted twice for the same crime, but the Democrats, who incessantly decry so-called ‘loopholes,’ were eager to exploit a loophole of their own.
Impeachment in the Senate had failed to render Trump guilty, but they hoped the Biden Injustice Department could render a guilty verdict via a Grand Jury trial. The Democrats have been emboldened by their confidence that they will face no consequences for their treason. And it is treason.
In 1776, Thomas Hickey, who had been handpicked to be one of George Washington’s elite personal guards, was hanged in New York City before an audience of 20,000. Hickey had been arrested on suspicion of counterfeiting and while in prison, had confided to fellow prisoners that he was turning his back on the cause of independence, and actively recruiting others to support the British.
What have the Democrats been doing since 2016? Have they not turned their backs on independence, and actively recruited like-minded ‘journalists,’ intelligence agents, politicians, and other bureaucrats to support their efforts to undermine Trump, America, and our Constitution?
The FBI just raided President Trump’s private home in Mar-a-lago. This action is unprecedented in the entire history of the United States. While Trump has said the raid represents “dark times for our Nation,” the Democrat media claims the raid represents “a dark day for Trump.”
Trump is right and the sycophantic left-wing media establishment is corrupt. This is the same media that suppressed the Hunter Biden laptop story during the 2020 election, only to admit that they’d lied after Biden became President; the same media, which promoted the Trump-Russia collusion hoax.
Democrats have already gotten away with numerous unsuccessful plots to destroy Trump: collusion, quid pro quo, and insurrection; not to mention the countless other minor efforts by comparison — Stormy Daniel’s ‘hush money,’ taxes returns, etc.
What response would such treasonous efforts have elicited from the likes of George Washington, or Abraham Lincoln?
A reckoning must come. Americans must confront the Democratic Party’s previous and ongoing attacks against Trump with sober truth. It is the Democrats, who have turned their backs on America and their efforts are tantamount to treason.
We can no longer dismiss what the Democrats have done with such casual acceptance. These are very dark times for our Nation and the perpetrators must pay a price. After all, nobody is above the law.
